We went back to Mom and Dad's for our annual summer trip. I went for two weeks while Jasen and Matt joined me for one week. One of the things I love most about summer is fresh vegetables! Mom and Dad have a garden so I helped pick beans and other fresh veggies for quick eating! The weather was much hotter that last summer and reached heat indexes of over 100 degrees. The humidity was a force to reckoned with! We went to a St.Louis Cardinal game and we all struggled with the heat, even though it was an evening game. Grandma Trutter went as well, and somehow she stayed relatively cool and had a wonderful time! We enjoyed Dave and Milli's pool, and being able to see much of the Trutter family! I was even able to see Tom and Becky just before they had to go back to Connecticut. Meg's boyfriend Aaron came for a visit and we met Ben's nongirlfriend, Katie, at the baseball game. It was a full house! :) We really missed Lindzo. :( But, she will be back on the main land in May! Yay!
We made our usual stops, including a bar-b-que at Sue and Steve's house and lunch at D'Arcie's Pint for horseshoes! We went to lunch with the VonBehrens several times, which was a good way to see everyone and catch up on the latest! Of course, we had to hit the press club for some competitive Shuffle Board and cheap beer. I think Jay and Dad are mostly in it for the cheap beer. ;) At any rate, we had a great time as usual and I quote Matt when he said, "I always have fun in Illinois!" as we were leaving. We already miss everyone! I'll be the only one coming back for Christmas, but I'm already looking forward to my next trip!
