Home stretch!

28 weeks, and the beginning of the third trimester! :) Jasen says that it is going fast....I don't know if I necessarily agree with that.....but I do remember thinking not that long ago that the third trimester felt really far away. This is not the best pic, because I took it myself so that angle isn't great, but you get the idea....big belly! It is funny because some people that see me say that I look small, and others think I look big for how far along I am. Maybe it depends on what I'm wearing. :) We had our 28 week appointment last week and everything is good, except my iron level dropped 2 points, and they really are okay with it dropping only 1 point. So, I have to up my iron and folic acid intake. I have done that and already feel like I have a lot more energy!

Here is also a picture of a glider that we bought for the nursery. We got it for a steal on craigslist....$65 and it is very nice. :) The baby's room is slowly coming together. We are really trying to be frugal with the money, since most of these items will only be used for a short amount of time.....and the prices of baby gear, etc, is absolutely ridiculous if you buy it retail. I am now on the hunt for a baby jogging stroller. Most retail for an average of $300, and I have found some very gently used ones on craigslist for $100 or less!

We have also decided on using cloth diapers. After hours of research, we decided on a hybrid system named gDiapers. The diapers are compatible with a biodegradable insert (biodegrades in 32 days in a landfill) or a cloth insert. The investment is a bit more than I had anticipated, but I think (and hope) it will be worth it. Well, no turning back now! :) I also ordered some of the fuzzibunz because they have also received rave reviews. We shall see which we like better!

12 more weeks until baby! I'm having a really strong feeling about April 24th for date of arrival....we shall see!

Christmas Recap

It already feels as though it was a long time ago...Christmas! As most of you know, I stayed in California for Christmas day, and then flew (by myself) to Illinois for a 10 day stay.   For Christmas Eve, we took Shari (Jasen's Mom) and Matt to one of my favorite restaurants (organic, local cuisine) for a really nice dinner. We celebrated Christmas at Shari's house, but first we had Christmas morning with Matt at our house. Here are few pics. Roxy even had a few gifts under the tree....one of which was wrapped. I wish I would have taken video footage of her opening that gift like a maniac as we egged her on ripped off the wrapping paper- silly dog! Jeff and Vicki, Albert, Kristy, and little Jason, and Shannon, Carlee, and Camden all came for Christmas dinner and gift opening at Shari's. It was a really nice day - and I whooped Jasen at Wii bowling....ha!

Jasen packed up his Greenbay cooler and we headed out the door the day after Christmas so that I could be dropped at the airport on the way to the Packers game. :) I was nervous about flying, not knowing how that might go since I am preggo, but everything went great! Mom, Dad and the gang waited to celebrate Christmas until I arrived, so we opened gifts and at a wonderful Christmas dinner on the 27th. It wasn't snowing, but there was snow on the ground and it was a really fun day!

My friend, Katie, flew in from Detroit and Meghan's friend, Bailey, drove down from Chicago. It was a full house for sure but we made it work!

Next time I see Mom and Dad, there will be a little one in my arms! Can't wait! :)

26 weeks!

Here is a quick picture update (I think I won't wear a black shirt next time; it didn't take too well in the picture). Jasen took this of me on Sunday. I will be soon posting about Christmas and the baby shower, but wanted to at least post this for now. (too tired for a long post) :) Its tough adjusting back to work after the holiday break!!
