Family happenings

Just a few picture updates, since it seems that I can't take enough pictures of this super cute baby! Meg came for a long weekend to hang with us while she still enjoys her summer break. We never want her to go....but she has to be in the bay area for some tutoring she is doing this summer. Also, just another update, Jasen is on his second week back to work, so it has just been mommy and baby. I really love being home with Raegan and I know I only have a few short weeks left with her so I'm treasuring every moment. She just gets more fun everyday! We are in the process of interviewing nanny's this week....i can't believe I have to leave her and go back to work :(

Last weekend I had her on my lap while reading the Sunday paper and next thing I knew half of it was on the floor - she is grabbing and touching everything! She loves to look at new things, including having books read to her - especially the really colorful ones! She also now loves to be in the sling so she can be with mama and look all around. Her favorite toys are a giraffe named Sophie (teether), and a zebra rattle that my friends Felicia sent her. She is also still pretty fond of the ceilings fans...ha! Meg and I took her to get her 3 month picture taken, and she really hammed it up! They turned out great! (PS- Check out the little scholar with the book...hehe.)

Hot Summer in the Midwest

We spent nearly two weeks of June (and the first part of July) visiting the Trutter clan! It was a ton of fun and the time flew by. Raegan was completely spoiled by all of the attention, especially from Aunt Meggo and my Mom.  I was a nervous wreck about flying with a 9 week old baby, but she actually did really great. All that worry for nothing. It was so great to have so much help with Raegan while we were there....Mom and Meg would even take turns taking the early morning shift so Jay and I could catch up on some very much needed sleep. We took Raegan out to lunch, dinner, bowling, to the VonBehren Family reunion, shopping, to Grandma T's, and on lots of walks! She was kept very busy! She really loved being outside when it wasn't too hot...and if she could talk, I think she would say her favorite part of the trip was sitting on the porch swing at Mom and Dad's. She often fell asleep to the sounds of the birds and insects. :) It was terrific that Grandma T finally got to hold her first great grandchild! Here are a few pics from the trip! Another highlight of the trip was getting to see my best-est friends from college- Gina, Leanne, and Felicia. The special occasion was Felicia's 30th birthday....she is the youngest of the four of us. We are all spread out all over the US, from coast to coast, so having all four of us together was really an event! How wonderful!! :) I miss you girls!

3 months old! :)

Our little stinkety stinks just turned 3 months old! This is particularly note worthy because according to the books and experienced parents, babies become much easier at the 3 month mark! We noticed this dramatic change starting around 10 weeks of age...when we were visiting my family in Illinois. I was at first skeptical....wondering if the change was due to her age or due to the fact that she was highly entertained and given a TON of attention during the trip. :) It turns out, she is just getting older and more accustomed to this crazy little world!

She is now grabbing and grasping toys and blankets and hands. She also bats at toys dangled in front of her, which is very cute to see her concentration to reach out and touch a toy. Her sleep during the day has become easier, and she can fall asleep much faster. She has very different cries now, and this includes one that makes Jasen and I laugh out loud. She yells out, almost as if saying "Hey!" when she wants attention. It is super cute. :) Also, she is quite the little smiler. She loves it when mama does silly stuff and when daddy calls her a big girl. Somehow she gets cuter every day!
