THAT'S Packer football, baby!

It was a very exciting Superbowl for our family! As most of you know, Jasen is quite the fanatic. What some of you may not know, is that there is a group of packer fans in our area that get together for EVERY packer game, and we all take turns hosting! Now, these are hard core fans...full attire and everything. Even most of the dogs come in jerseys. Most everyone was born in Wisconsin, or their family was born in Wisconsin. Jay was born in Milwaukee. I am a Green bay packers hostage. :)

The party for the Superbowl consisted of about 40 or 50 people, some of which were friends and family of packer fans! It was an intense game, but they pulled out a win and everyone went crazy!

Here is a clip from the party that I really love.....I managed to catch the last play of the game on video (well, not the actual game, but the spectators). You'll see everyone get excited when Green bay holds the Steelers  to 4th down, and assumes the win!

Here are some cool things I've learned about this football team over the last several weeks. It is actually a very historical team, which I think is neat. :)

1. The Superbowl trophy, named the Lombardi Trophy, is actually named after Vince Lombardi who was a coach for the Green bay Packers. So, this is why you might have seen fans holding signs that said "Bringing it back home!" ....
2. Green bay is the smallest NFL city....maybe the size of Glenarm, plus a few ;)
3. Green bay has won the most NFL Championships, which it is why it is nicknamed Titletown, USA.
4. Green bay spends very little money on free agents, and instead builds their team through the draft. Because of this, they are the second youngest team in the NFL (meaning youngest players).
5. They are the only NFL team still owned by shareholders....in fact, we have several shareholders in our packer group! :0

It was a really fun day, and Jay couldn't be happier! With a baby on the way and a Superbowl win, this is a great year in the Trutter-Smith household! As Jasen's identical cousin, Jeff, would say, "THAT'S Packer football, baby!!!!!"
