Summer Vacation 2012 here we come!

As none of you will be shocked to know, we went to Illinois to visit the Trutter family for our summer vacation. Before I completely forget everything that we did, besides eat, I thought I'd better write this post! Half of the information is already lost somewhere between chocolate chip cookies and coconut cream pie. ;)

Seriously, we had a lot of fun, and even though the temperatures were triple digits the first part of the trip, we  still managed to do a lot outside. We also took a mini trip to Memphis for some delicious barbecue. While we were there, we also went to the Memphis Zoo, which is a really wonderful zoo and everyone seemed to really enjoy it, not just Raegan! The National Civil Rights Museum was one of the neatest museum's I have ever been to and it was very interesting. If you ever get the chance to see it, you should! Lucky for us, Andi and Ben were able to join us and made the Memphis trip all the more fun!

While we were at my parents, we also did some swimming next door at my Aunt and Uncle's house! Raegan learned to go underwater, without inhaling any water! I was super impressed. :) We also had the horses (behind my parents property) on a regular apple feeding schedule. Raegan absolutely loved the horses and insisted on seeing them and petting thing and feeding them as many times a day as humanely possible. Instead of apples, she said "bopples" and she wanted to feed the horses anything that looked remotely close to an apple (including tomatoes and peaches- ha!). She also enjoyed many rounds of catch and treat giving with my parent's dog Aidan, whose name she came to speak very clearly and loudly!

One of the last days of our stay we went to the Illinois State Fair. I hadn't been in many many years, and forgot how terrible the food actually is. ;) Raegan immensely enjoyed the animals, and ran around making sheep sounds when she saw the sheep, goats, cows, and pigs. :) She was able to pet the animals which was very exciting! We took her to the Colosseum to see the horse show, and she acted as though it was the best thing she had ever seen in her life. I guess mommy and daddy will have to get her a horse someday. Ha!

It was such a great visit and we are glad we were able to see most of the family while we were there! We took hundreds of pics while we were there, but here are a few of my favorites!
