Yay for summer!

Well, summer came much later than we remember it typically coming, but finally it is here! We went on our first camping trip and we had two new additions to the trip....Meghan and her beau, Aaron. Or, as we like to call him, Double A. We headed up to Grass Valley, which is about 45 minutes northeast of Lincoln. The elevation is roughly 3500 feet, so as is typical, we didn't have to worry about mosquitoes or hot weather. Actually, the weather was absolutely gorgeous! Andy, Jen, Matt, and Jon were part of the crew as well. Jon brought up his trailer while the rest of us tent camped, and it worked out perfect!

Oddly enough, there were no dogs allowed in the lake. But, as you will see from the pictures, the rules did not stop us!! When we were informed of this, Jon responded by saying, "Well are the bears allowed in the lake?" The lady said, "I just work here sir." Bahahaha! Good question I think! Also, yes there were bears, and Jasen and Andy spotted one just up the road....allegedly a "baby" bear, but I have a feeling that story was tamed down so as not to scare the scaredy cats (which I am!).

Meg miraculously found some gluten free graham crackers and so she and Matt feasted on smores until they were nearly sick! Haha! Meg hasn't camped since she was younger and scarred for life by my father. I think she now has a new fonder memory of camping, and I hope that she and double A will go with us again sometime! Next stop, Bear River in July, and that is one of my faves!! :)
