Well, we weathered yet another flu, but unfortunately my parents were here when Raegan had a very bad case of it. Mom and Dad both subsequently ended up getting some version of that virus, after they left. It has been a hectic last few weeks with flu after flu hitting our family. Hopefully we are now DONE for the season. It was still a fun visit, and we made the best of it! I have to say it was nice having some extra help caring for Raegan who was quite miserable and couldn't sleep (which means mommy also wasn't sleeping). I can always count on my parents to keep a positive outlook even in difficult times.
In better news.....the weather has been February Fabulous! I say that because typically February is a great month for us, weather wise.....and then comes March and April with cold, and wind, and rain. The rain we need, but the wind and the cold I can do without!
We have been enjoying the sunshine, and even went up to a lake and camp groups over the weekend. Raegan was so excited to go, she was smiling the whole 1 hour drive up there. She could spend hours playing by the lake shore and throwing rocks in the water. It was nice to be outside in the sun, and be healthy! Raegan also tried some fishing. I thought for sure that after she didn't catch one in 10 seconds that she would be done with it, but she was determined! She was in it for the fish dinner.....unfortunately she did not catch one. I tried to explain to her the most important lesson about fishing.....Sometimes you catch one, and sometimes you don't. She really pondered this. :)
I've been feeling pretty well, and counting down (7 more weeks) until I'm officially on maternity leave. I can tell this baby is really growing now, as my appetite has really revved up. Grow baby, grow!

Third trimester
The latest and greatest is that I finished the baby blanket, finished a baby hat, survived Raegan and I having the flu at the same time, and now I am starting the third trimester. I have definitely not documented this pregnancy as much as the first, but I suppose that is how it typically goes after the first baby. :) Time is of the essence!
We found a doula to help with the labor at the hospital. I am very hopeful that this delivery will go much smoother! All of my check ups have been good, although I feel like I am 38 weeks, not 28. I truly cannot believe I still have 3 months to go. I am so excited to meet this little one! We are so far not at all prepared.....as in nothing is ready. Nothing is washed, the room is not set up, and we still need to go out and buy some of the essentials. We have most of what we need, just things like binkies, burp cloths, bottles, etc. Nothing that a trip to target won't cure.....I just need to get around to making a list and doing it! The dresser is set to be delivered on Monday, and the rocking chair is on order. We still have plenty of time for it to all come together, but I remember having everything already prepared for Raegan by this time.
I am starting maternity leave 4 weeks before my due date, which makes my last day of work just before my birthday (about 8 weeks to go!). What a wonderful birthday present! I ended work 4 weeks before my due date with Raegan, and remember being very glad that I did! Also, I need Raegan out of preschool for a while to make sure everyone is healthy for the arrival of the baby. It seems that she brings home some cold or flu from school way too frequently, and then passes it to Jasen or I, or both.
I have a clear vision for the baby's room, which won't really be complete until the baby is born and we can add more gender specific colors. Most people are thinking it is a boy, but of course we have both a boy and a girl name picked out (which we are not disclosing).
We are currently in the middle of a long rain storm in California that we have been in desperate need of! I hope we get a break in the weather for my parents visit next week. They booked a last minute flight and it will be a surprise to Raegan! :)
